SMS Healthcare was founded in 2017 by some of Australia’s most experienced healthcare professionals.

As CEO, David Hoy has brought together a leadership team of dedicated and experienced healthcare executives who are pushing boundaries and setting new expectations in the delivery of healthcare.

David Hoy is an accomplished senior leader in the healthcare sector, with 15+ years in senior roles for leading institutions such as Healthscope, John Fawkner Private Hospital, Medibank Private and Vision Group. Most recently, David was the State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania at Healthscope, responsible for the executive management and performance of 11 hospitals.

Rodney is a Chartered Accountant and is currently the Chief Financial Officer at SMS Healthcare. He has held CFO roles at a number of healthcare organisations including Monash IVF, St Vincents Health and Nexus Hospitals. Further Rodney brings significant operational experience including at Ortho Group and Vision Eye Institute, a keen risk management focus and the ability to generate innovative solutions. Rodney also serves as a Director and Treasurer of Day Hospitals Australia the peak representative body for day hospitals in Australia.

Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary

Dr Ilan Sebban us a founding member and fellow of the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and a fellow of a number of colleges. He has extensive experience in establishing practices and developing them to the highest level. He has subspecialist expertise in cataract and refractive surgery which it is at the highest level of monetary gain in ophthalmology. Dr Sebban is dedicated to developing eye clinics and to encourage and train ophthalmologists. For the last 10 years he has been the chairman of the MAC at two day surgeries in Sydney.

Melissa is an experienced Business Development Executive with a broad range of experience across the private healthcare industry. Melissa brings a strong technical business development skillset that she has successfully used in both identifying and implementing strategic opportunities, working closely to align the interests of key healthcare stakeholders and using her marketing background to oversee strategy and campaign development to support the success of these initiatives.

Natasha is an experienced healthcare professional, with a proven ability to design and execute multifaceted marketing campaigns. In this role, Natasha is responsible for brand and marketing strategies, with a focus on digital initiatives that are aligned to the strategic business objectives.

Director of Marketing and Partnership Liaison

Troy is an experienced corporate development manager with a background in corporate finance and taxation, having joined SMS from his role as a Corporate Finance Senior Manager at William Buck. He has has advised and supported on M&A and capital raising transactions up to $250m in the middle market space and across a wide range of industries. Troy brings strong technical knowledge as a qualified Chartered Accountant as well as skills in strategy and transactions developed from working on a numerous transactions. Troy joined SMS in early 2022 to drive the M&A growth at SMS as well as provide skills in other corporate finance activities such as financial modelling, business valuation and capital raising.

Tanya is an experienced professional registered nurse, having worked for over 30 years in the field. Extensive experience working in private and public hospitals and day surgeries across NSW in various clinical, executive management and educational role. Lead auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards since 2015. Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, ambulatory nursing and safety and quality in healthcare, and has extensive experience in private hospital regulations, clinical risk management and legislative requirements
